I started this blog during my gap year between high school and college in order to write about my gap year experiences. Now I'm just two months away from being halfway through my junior year, and this blog has a grand total of one post.
But I want to come back to it again, for a few reasons:
1) With all the writing I do for school assignments now for my major, I'd like to try to use this as an occasional outlet for fun, non-academic writing
2) Part of me is still really bothered by the fact that I've never blogged regularly for more than about a month at a time
3) I am an English major, and I just have a lot of words that I have to do something with
Rather than starting over with a new blog and trying to come up with a title again, I'd like to just refocus this one a bit and concentrate on one of my biggest passions: literature and storytelling in all forms, whether that be books, movies, TV shows, musicals, or my own attempts at fiction writing.
In a way, the title of the blog still applies. Every paper that I'm assigned as an English major could be seen as an inconvenience (especially towards the end of the semester), or it could be seen as an adventure into the world of literature and a chance to challenge my own writing and thinking skills so that the finished product is something to be proud of.
And sometimes, I really need that reminder.
